I'm an artist so I don't really know how programmers work, sorry if this seems like a really stupid question.

Do programmers do commissions, like accept payment for scripts, just like how artists accept payment for art like facesets and battlers etc.?

Is there a pricing range on how big the scale of the script is? Or to help tweak a script?

Also is there a way to get in contact with Yanfly and Fomar? I'd like to thank them for their scripts helping us out in the Indie Game Contest.
  2. Some scripters accept commisions. Its price range is depends on how hard the script is. Simple mechanic could be cheap. While the new battle system could very expensive. However, not all the scripters open the commisions
  3. sadly yanfly is not join able  anymore if I remember

    formar I am not sure

for paying a script this depend of how they work but normally they will not give you the script before they pay

but genrally they furnish a video for show what this give or a compressed demo

for the price depends of the complexity of the script.
  4. Yanfly never takes commissions. And if you want to donate to him, he would just tell you to donate to Breast Cancer Research Fund.

Different scripters have different ranges and terms. I for one doesn't do commission work for tweaking a script or making compatibility patches. It can range from $1 to more than $100 depending on how much work the system needs.

I copied my terms from Shaz' and we do give out the script before payment  as we expect you to do the right thing. That's already two exceptions for the statement. :)
  8. Yep. If you're looking for a scripter, check out the Classifieds - Offers forum. There are several scripters there who are open for commissions. You might have to go through a few pages (or search for Script in the title in that forum), as there are a whole swag of artist and musician threads in there, and not many scripters, but they're there.

I'm closed for commissions at the moment, but have done them in the past. I prefer not to modify other people's scripts, or to make scripts that have to be compatible with other people's scripts. Prices depend on what you want done - how complex it is, which determines how long it'll take to finish and test. I do fixes as a result of bugs for free, but not add-ons that weren't originally requested. I've also, on occasion, charged less for a script than I requested because it turned out easier than I expected.

As mentioned above, I'll give you the script before payment, so you have a chance to test it out. I trust my customers, and will continue to do so until I get burned. I hope that never happens.
