Mappers & Eventers Needed
The Backstory:My brother and I are making an RPG which is set in the universe of a Novella we wrote about a year ago. We have recently picked the book up and edited it a lot. Refining it and are looking to e-publish the book in the near future.
To fully understand the nature of the RPG you will need to read the novella. It is about 87 pages long and won't be to everyone's taste. To be brutally honest the humour is an acquired taste due to it's simplicity, crudeness and generally being nonsense for the most part.
However due to the fact we are looking to e-publish it soon we don't want to go posting a Dropbox link and will only send it out to people once they've shown interest in the project.
The story is set in a fantasy world which has links to the real world. Although in the novella it is highly suggested that these are the simple times follwing hundreds or possibly thousands of years after the apocalypse on Earth, the world map does not resemble it.
The hero from the novella and in the game is named Bon'Jellar BonWinkle. He is a Prince and his father is King Khanestan BonWinkle, ruler of the kingdom Ordegron (the large island on the upper-left side of the world map).
The Game:
The game is a prequel to the aforementioned novella, planned to be an origin story of one of the villains from the novella. However the story is currently just a rough idea as we've spent a lot of time trying to get the map sorted and make the towns believable before we really think about the story. This is where the mappers come in. We seriously need help mapping the world. It probably isn't the biggest map but it is distracting us from getting down to the story and this could be detrimental to the final product as ideas may slip our minds no matter how much we try to jot them down.
We shall solely be handling the story unless one of the people we recruit shows a nack for writing in a similar style. Although we doubt that is likely to happen due to the fact it's mostly complete nonsense that we bounce off each other. Once again, it really is an acquired taste.
Also it is full of profanities.
The Progress:
So far we have created the world map and are currently working towards populating the map for the largest city in the game/novella. The city is called Buttspole - am I proving my point about the humour being crude yet? - and it is probably about half completed at best. However this could be a gross underestimation/miscalculation.
We will need mappers to speed up the progress of building the towns and anyone that does join will need to be open to suggestions about how the cities should look. However we will also be open to improvements.
The eventers will be needed to help execute the story by creating cutscenes, quests and other things that events are needed for. The cutscene will follow a dialogue given but you will be given control over them except for where they happen within the world. Once again we may let the people that come in change the story a bit but it would have to be run by us first.

As you can see the graphical style is simple, however it is early days and we are always open to constructive criticism and any improvements that could be brought by more skilled mappers would always be greatly appreciated and respected.
There are many other towns which we hope to include from the novella, these are:
Jumanjington - the town ruled by King Robin-William
Tangenton - a small town which our hero got drawn to whilst avoiding the main story of the novella
South Sh*tstink - a very important town from the novella, however, will most likely only have a small part in the game
Tee-Eye Are-Dee (TIRD) - which stands for Transference Industries Research & Development. (A lame wordplay joke on the word turd)
Many-Hat-Tons - a ruined relic of an old city. (Tying in with the idea that the novella & game take place in a post-apocalyptic setting)
A Dark Tower - a large relic with no explanation. Not mentioned in the novella but could play an important part in the game. (Need to see how the story develops)
Chubs' (a villain from the novella) lair - a cave within which an odd villain from the book lives. May or may not end up in the game.
I am probably forgetting a few but once again the importance of these locations within the game will become more apparent to us as we get down to actually constructing and refining a more detailed version of the story.
There are a few screenshots of simple mechanics that have been implemented whilst we experiment with the engine in this album as well as the maps shown above.
