  1. Thanks for the skip! I finally played the next part of the demo.
Another problem though.. I have the same bug I used to have in the demo last year.

    Bug

I got stuck in the middle of the stairway as I went down in the morning.
I can neither go up nor down.

    And as for small bugs...
    Small bugs
    1. The battle selection image (with the staff text) isn't removed during the defeat message.

    2. Not sure this is what you're looking for but several overlay bugs.

    3. And I think the character can go over the objects too much. It would be nicer if it gets blocked by them before it steps on them.
If it's what you intended, then it won't be a problem. :)

    4. I couldn't get a screenshot but when I got near the bed at night, without going IN the bed I just start sleeping with the blanket halfway over me.

If some of the above are intentional, don't bother to fix it.
Btw I love the art and unique character design.
The battle scene was nicely done too. I liked the action of the mushroom attacking and the image used to display the turns of the battlers.
I also dig the menu screen - the colors are so warm and neat and it looks organized. :)
  2. Thanks so much for your feedback so far. I think I've figured out what the problem is causing you to get stuck and also the overlay bugs - weirdly, none of these could be replicated from my end. I think it's a half-move plugin which lets you move half a square (so movement routes are only half as long as they should be, and you can go and extra half-square further over the top of objects). It should be disabled during the intro to the game but something must be going wrong in the deployed version on PC.

Anyway, I've disabled it fully and uploaded another version of the game for you. If this doesn't work, I can give you access to the project on steam so you can run it through MZ itself (if you have a copy of MZ?)
    Hope this works
  3. Yes now it works perfectly!
The overlay is working fine and the motions are much softer and natural.

I crossed the river and am in the village with many people.
I love how you've put various activities to do - like gambling with cards, fishing, simple quests, brewing, and so on.
I'm a big fan of quests and can't wait to complete them one by one!

Also, I enjoyed gambling a lot. The art is nicely done and the music is pleasing to the ears.
It would have been a little more fun if there were more cards with bigger numbers.
With only three numbers to play with, it seemed that the game went on as the previous one, making draws several times.
I'd like to take risks with bigger numbers so that I can make more money and have more fun. :)

As for the battle and brewing, which I didn't try much, I found it hard to focus on the directions.
Getting all the directions almost at the same time without tutorials, I ended up leaving them unread in the journal.
I guess I'll read it later when I'm done with the quests... There were so many...

But again, I love the character designs and beautiful art. They are so unique and interesting.
The maps are very well-made, too. It looks like a lot of work.

Only a few bugs I've found so far
Some texts don't seem to fit in the text section and are cut off.

There is an invisible wall blocking the way right under Dason.

Thank you for the feedback! Glad you are enjoying the demo.
Re: the text cut off - it looks like it's not using the actual game font and has defaulted to a different one. In the message boxes and other menus - what font is displayed?
Re: the event blocking, I've changed that.
  5. I'm really digging the art style, it looks so unique! I'll give the demo a shot when I have time!
  6. I've updated to original post as I've put in a bit of work in rebooting this game - changed the concept and mechanics significantly plus some tweaks to the art style. Basically I realised I wasn't that interested in making a typical combat-led game and wanted to limit myself to one location (a city) that is fully fleshed out, rather than making a whole world that's just so-so.

Let me know your thoughts about the new concept!
