My name is David, I'm 24 and I live in Glasgow, Scotland. I am probably more known around these parts under the alias 'Dekita'.
For quite a few years now I have been using RPG Maker (vx ace) and this particular forum; however, I have never properly introduced myself (at least not to my recollection :p ).
Some of you may have noticed that this ain't my first post... That is because during the time I have spent here, I have been 'honing my skills', whether it be graphical or textual, in the hope of one day creating a successful game using the engine that is - 'Ace'.
During the time I have spent here, I have encountered quite a few people that not only helped me learn, some also offered me aid in my quest for 'an adequate game'. This is something I would have never expected when I first picked up ace and I hope it is something that continues in the future. As I am sure you will agree, making new friends and acquaintances is always a good thing :)
A by-product of the aforementioned 'learning' is the extensive array of scripts I have written. The best of which are included within my $D13x script series.
To give you an idea of how erratic this learning curve has been, my first ever script, a statistic distribution system (THIS ONE), was over 2500 lines of code (1000-ish are customizable). Once I felt I had gained sufficient script writing exp, I re-wrote this system...
The Re-Write's main script (ISPDS) has just over 1500 lines of highly efficient code, which does at least 4x what the old script could do. Furthermore, the ISPDS can be paired with at least 5 other scripts to allow additional statistics to be distributed, such as atk/def elements...
Along with writing code, I have also been known to create the occasional piece of art, such as a frankened sprite or a small icon edit. Kind of partial to making text images now as well :D
