So I'm pretty new to RPG maker and I use VX Ace. While working on a project, I tried to make a event tile that would push the player back a space, but after conditions are met, will let the player pass through. I managed to pull it off partially by making the event that pushes the player back switch to event page 2 with a self switch and putting a control switch on another event, so when that event is completed, you can pass through. The only problem with that is that the self switch only activates when the event has already been triggered, leading to text that tells you to do what you already did, and only then allowing you to pass through. It's my first day on the forum, so please don't crucify me, and thanks for the help in advance :D

I think I will be able to instruct you better on what you need to change if you are able to post screenshots of each event page of your event.
Oh, and please be careful to avoid double-posting. It's a mistake a lot of people make, and the mods will have to give you a gentle warning if you do. -
You could achieve this by a regular switch. Have that switch turn on when you want the player to pass through the tile, then put the conditions where the player could pass through the tile on the page with the condition that switch is on.

Thanks a bunch! Turns out that taking the self switch out of the equation solved the problem. You could achieve this by a regular switch. Have that switch turn on when you want the player to pass through the tile, then put the conditions where the player could pass through the tile on the page with the condition that switch is on.

Did I double post this thread or was that a warning?Oh, and please be careful to avoid double-posting. It's a mistake a lot of people make, and the mods will have to give you a gentle warning if you do.

I'm not a mod, so no. I was just giving you a heads up. Double-posting means posting directly below yourself in less than 72 hours.
Some time later, a mod may come by to say something about it, just don't take it too personally.
Glad you understood bgillisp's instruction.
By the way, if you haven't already, maybe you can try spending some time going through the tutorials, specifically Andar's Tutorials for beginners :

And the official tutorial (which is also linked to his topic) :

There are also a lot of great tutorials located in their respective tutorial sections. ^^ -
Ah, Okay. Thank you!

I've moved this thread to VX Ace Support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.
(Program & Utility Discussion is for "support" type programs like GIMP, Audacity, etc - that aren't RPG Maker but you still use them for making resources and stuff).
Sahr, please avoid double posting, as it is against the forum rules. You can review our forum rules here. Thank you.
This is to give you a link to the forum rules so you can learn what's okay and what's not. You can also get to the forum rules from a link in the lower right corner of every page.
