  1. The difference is so subliminal that I actually don't mind if both styles are used in one game tbh. But nice.
  2. We should consider keeping Avery LOL.
    I always enjoy her tutorials.
  3. @TheoAllen Well, fixing just the eyes and the black outlines is just a very sublimal task, so if you skip the shading part you have very low investment and the difference is even more sublimal ;D

    @zzmmorgan Haha, no, worries, I'll stay ;3

    I wonder if @antega34 has some additional tips on this topic, as they also did some conversion of MV sprites closer to MZ.
  4. Thank you so much for this guide, it should help a lot of us out!
    Happy to add my 2 cents. Like mentioned above, the biggest thing r the eyes, black lines, shading and saturation. The saturation and eyes r an easy fix. For the lines, I used a simple method, adjust the black level using GIMP and adjusted levels to get the shading. Here r some examples comparing several of the RTP characters for MV/MZ, and some edits I made.

    The fox and hero are untouched, the rest I have edited to varying degrees. Some sprites just work better with very little editing like the chicken and crow (from Trinity DLC, censored for use purposes but will remove if asked).
    Others like the horse and demon girl r much more difficult as u can edit the black lines out using expose but then the colors r way too faded. U can adjust it with saturation but u might lose come coloration.
    To actually get the full MZ style u do have to do a lot of recoloring (or higher saturations) and add more shading edits as u can tell the MV ones arent as detailed as the MZ ones.

    I realized a lot of this too late so I'm planning on going back and adding just the eyes first and posting that if anyone wishes to edit themselves. I might try following the tutorial to make them match better but I'm no pixel artist so no promises haha.
    I know for some it's not a big issue but others like myself it does bother seeing the difference haha so hopefully the community can work on fixing that as its overall doable just a longer process.
