Hello everyone,
I'm in need of a script that will pause the set BGM (or mute it) during a battle (and allow the battle music to play) and then resume it where it left off (or restore volume).
I know there are two scripts out there (Continue Map's BGM after battle and Audio Engine - Both by the same person), but I've been trying to get either of these scripts to work and neither will cooperate. Plus, they add a lot of other features alongside that I just don't want or require.
So, is there someone out there that can point me in the right direction? I've also heard of FModEx, and I can find several links to different message boards, but it always leads to a dead end and no script. Plus, it also sounds like it again does way more than I need it too. I just want the music to keep playing and not start over again, that's all.
I'd really appreciate the help. The music is the last thing I need to finish off my game. Thanks!

I'm sorry, after certain events at other forum(s) I never uploaded most of my scripts for rmvx here. Check out RGSS2 scripts forum for FModEx. :)

Hey, thanks, I appreciate it. I tried to do a search of this site, but nothing seemed to come up. Perhaps I was doing something wrong. This certainly might help! I'm going to download the demo now and check it out. Thanks again!

Hey, FenixFyreX, just a quick question for you. I got the script to work, and it works well, except for one small thing. After a battle, the BGM continues, but it takes about 3-4 seconds after I'm back on the map for the music to begin playing again. Do you know what might cause such a delay? The player comes to this map after a cutscene and I used a event to set the BGM (not the auto-set from the RMVX map window). Would this have an effect?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
EDIT: Oh, and I just noticed as well, that when the music comes back after a battle, it's quite quiet. Is there a volume control for when the returns? Thanks! -
omega1227, please avoid double posting, as it is against the forum rules. You can review our forum rules here. Thank you.
That said, are you using MIDI files? -
Double posting? I'm not sure what that is or how I did it. I apologize. All I've been doing is clicking the links that come in my e-mail and using the "reply to this topic" box. Is that the wrong procedure?
As for the question, no I've only been using mp3s. -
Read the rules, double posting is when you have two consecutive posts that are within 72 hours of each other. :p
Now, could you upload a small demo recreating this issue? That would help me figure out the problem a lot faster. Thanks.
