  1. Apologies if this is in the wrong section, I'm new here.

So, say I want to compose a simple original soundtrack for a game. Does anybody know any good free/not very expensive programs for doing this? That's about it. Thanks in advance.
  2. Moved to Program and Utility Discussion. :)
  3. There's a topic on this with some good answers over here

I can also vouch for Reaper, Fl Studio and Music Creator.  Depends on what your definition of cheap is :)
  4. Actually after it's allready opened up this topic, is there any free good music making programm? (\s/)
  5. For free software, try to use Anvil Studio
  6. You know, this has only been asked a dozen times before. What came up when you searched?

Hello, I have just installed Anvil Studio for the first time. I selected my Axiom 25 MIDI keyboard in the preferences and when I run the sound test, it is able to play out all 16 notes.

The problem I am having is when I go into the piano roll, I am able to see notes appear in the sheet music as I press the respective notes on my MIDI keyboard, but I can't hear anything? I'm able to hear the notes as I record them and when I try to play them back?

I currently have Core Audio selected as the audio subsystem because I don't have ASIO drivers installed. Should I install the ASIO drivers and try changing the audio subsystem to ASIO? Should I install Pro-Mix and change the audio subsystem to Direct X?

I have made sure the volume is turned up. What is most likely the issue? I would greatly appreciate your help.
