Announcement - COMPLETE! Countdown to Christmas - 2023 RMW Advent Spotlight

Don't laugh at me, but it was infinitely easier tying this up on my computer~ We're almost there folks. Christmas is near!

I actually did a squee! when I saw @Avery 's marching band bears. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? We have a trumpet, a piccolo, and a snare drum. So, a perfect squad to keep tempo and morale into the battle defending their toy box~! Today's release is also packed with another gorgeous modular icon set to make the ring accessories of your games a reality!

Whether you go the rich eccentric route or keep it presidential, I agree with @Guardinthena Teddy Roosevelt was truly a character among characters in our real history and would be endlessly interesting to spoof with these sprites and face set. We have him in a fancy suit and expedition attire. Absolutely perfect to make use of the trophy tiles! For the true comedians out there, we can also make use of a ~maid~ mindflayer sprite! A maidflayer?

CCCreations

Skipping rope is some serious business! Be careful, don’t hurt yourself! So many games and you're at mercy the rope spinner can keep tempo! The MV children from @CCCreations have now learned to skip rope on what is surely RM’s most popular playground.

@hiddenone has made the companion set of downed poses for all the male NPCs we've met, and their remix versions as well. Now everyone can start their quests in a state of distress or simple laziness! The personalities and backstories are definitely up to you, but the male veteran and male merchant are definitely sleeping, c'mon.

@slimmmeiske2 made sure a statue depicting him pulling the (probably McGuffin) sword from its pedestal to carry out his valiant feat was born!

We also have an assortment of ~pink~ tiles for the pinkest bedroom ever devised. A pink tent to take that pinkness on the go~! And, some extra wide stairs. Why not?

There have never been too many building options, especially when it comes to interesting and decorative roof lines and cladding. @Starbird_Resources has gone for a Japanese feeling with the architecture of today’s tiles and each building displays a different variation of this woodworking technique to make sure this village isn’t too copy + paste!

Oh~ @GalacticGod has done a Wonder Woman sprite for his series of comic book characters today. She, per usual, has the most wonderfully tousled hair even after battle! We’ve mixed it up a little today and done generator parts for the outfit. Now anyone can wear a Wonder Woman costume!

WaywardMartian

We all know that no one is one-size-fits-all! @WaywardMartian has come out with some different bases for the facial expressions to mix up the features for each character you craft. One has a more rounded appearance while the other is more down turned.

Today, same idea but different version. We have a bathroom parallax geared more toward the fellas. BUT OMG, you really only have that many stalls?! That would stress me out.

Rounding out some previous advent projects @Avery has provided even more SV battlers for missing MZ characters! We’ve completed SF_People1_3 (a rather modern lookin’ dude) and People 4_2 (the maid). Classic modern vehicles such as taxis and police cars (with a couple normal sedans too) have been made into directional tiles to line the streets of your busy cities!

Your treasure chests can really take on the ~essence~ of whatever dungeon they’re inside. @Guardinthena has whipped up a couple variants of the honey chests from earlier and given us a mud and slime option. …Yummy? Well, not quite like honey even in the best of times. The beverage buddy set has now been fully realized with character icons. Absolutely perfect if you want to make him a guide character or special quest character~!

CCCreations

Today is once again MZ’s day on @CCCreations ' advent calendar. The jump roping behaviors are now perfectly tweaked. Make sure to keep your form and times those jumps, lest you suffer the mortal…boo boo.

OH~ @hiddenone has created a counterpart to the red ogre with a blue ogre. We could easily do a rivaled tale of fire and ice or you know…maybe they’re friends?! This guy boasts a single horn and a more slicked back appearance in their hair, but opposites still attract. Blue ogre could be a good cop to red ogre’s bad cop!

@slimmmeiske2 has provided the spoils of war. Her entry into the Christmas Game Jam has produced a cast of cozy characters in winter gear. For tiles we have a recolor set of wood clad and wood shingle buildings and a pot. Who doesn’t need a new pot? We also have quite a few title screens depicting a scene at different times of day and year!

Starbird_Resources

A whole heap of food and food-related accessory tiles from @Starbird_Resources today~ It doesn’t matter who you are, where you live, or even if you’re a video game character…you gotta eat! We have an incredible amount of options to cover snackier foods to fully prepared meals…not to mention the cookware needed!

GalacticGod

An intimidating general or war-ready king has approached @GalacticGod ‘s advent calendar. In stately gold armor, MZ Evil_7 has been turned into an SV Battler worthy of at minimum a mid boss battle, if not a full boss battle!

WaywardMartian

Staying in perfect rhythm, @WaywardMartian has now added expression variations to the elf and demon faces shared a few days back. We have sly elves and calm orcs. Make sure you get the perfect personality for your character!

Gniiial

@gniiial is back in action and has provided another interior parallax. This one is packaged and intended as a pawn shop but I think with a little GIMP or Photoshop magic this could easily be a robbed house or even the worst bachelor pad.

Not gonna lie, it’s hard to not crack a bunch of Frozen jokes here with @Avery ’s ice castle but in all seriousness this tile set can make way for an integral dungeon in your game. Nothing is spared in the set and you can create a level that easily incorporates the exterior into the dungeon that dwells inside.

What a clever way to finish this year’s advent calendar! @Guardinthena has crafted a tile set of toys. A child in an RPG would no doubt be interested in toy swords to fight with. Don’t they all dream of saving the world? We also have long standing faves such as toy blocks, balls, and jump ropes.

OK @CCCreations is a mind reader. I was pondering how rad it would be if we could get hopscotch somewhere up in this calendar. I lowkey feel like there has been a chip planted in my brain because we got that now! No worries about this being the last day of advent because we’ve been hit with a side-by-side release of the MV and MZ format. Outstanding addition!

One of the best gifts are the gifts that keep giving. @hiddenone has VERY generously provided all the .psd files from the advent project. That means you can edit and franken to your heart’s content rather easily. Any resource that was close, but not quite, can be made perfect in your capable hands.

I love seeing @slimmmeiske2 end her calendar with more of her fairy sprite creations. These ice elemental fairies are going to go perfectly with the ice queen resources from earlier and also with Avery’s magical ice castle tile set! We have a couple color options to strike variety or the correct color palette of your maps overall.

Starbird_Resources

@Starbird_Resources has hopped back over to the modern aesthetic and provided a ton of different car options for her close out tile set. The vehicles come in all sorts of shapes and colors. We also have tiles with hoods up for maintenance, some delorean-esque doors, and some roadway signs as well.

GalacticGod

The spice in life is getting a battle encounter with an unexpected opponent, especially if they’re shockingly strong. That’s how I feel about @GalacticGod ’s elderly inn keeper SV Battler and matching sprite. My one hope is that any one who uses her makes her unusually challenging. It’s all fun and games until granny hits you with a broomstick.

WaywardMartian

@WaywardMartian has concluded the calendar with even more face variations for the demons and the human sprite bases as well. I say LOAD THEM UP. Your characters can never be too expressive! I have spoken at length about “stand there and talk” syndrome in games and THIS is part of the antidote.

Ohoho! Vehicles! @gniiial has hit us with a very apt addition to this urban setting. We would ABSOLUTELY need a ride! But, be careful about getting into a declaration of street race at the stop light. There are cops too!
