Charater change.

Hi all, i got the game today and am now strugling with it , The character you start the game with . Eric i think the bloke his name is., I want to change him i want a diffrent Character as a starting character and after looking over the forum i cannot find a tutorial for it.

Also how do i get the MC to meet new characters, i take it i have to make an event for that ?

I hope i am not asking dumb questions as i really want to  start working with this program.

Here is a good starting tutorial, as for changing the character you just have to click on the sprite couple times in the Database/Actors menu, if you want ti change the face then click on the face couple times. :) I hope that helps. Btw, I would suggest to look through Youtube tutorials for the beginners, there is so many good ones!

Go into the "Database" and if you are using a different default character you would then click on the "System" tab. The section you want is in the top-left and is labeled "Initial Party".

If you want to make a custom character you will need a graphic for them. There are a lot of default options, but if you want to make your own use the "Character Generator" from the main editor, it is the little button marked with a icon of a character sprite.

Once you have a graphic you will go back into the "Database" and click on the "Actors" tab to change the actor-specific stuff such as what graphic to use for the face and sprite, the character's starting class, etc... To change/customize the class itself is the "Classes" tab right next to the "Actors" tab.

This is for the DEFAULT character only.

On the other hand, the tutorial Bukarett gave you is for setting it up so the player can choose their own character from the ones you provide in the "Actors" tab(and further customize them as well) from in-game. This would be "a change later in a game" like I mentioned, even if it is immediately after selecting "New Game".

Thansk for the info :) the video helped a lot , but i fear that for my 1st project character selection would be a little much :)   but i am  liking the things i am now creating my MC

Just a tip though, if someone has posted in the thread since you last did, it is perfectly fine to make a new post in the thread rather than editing your last one! Makes it easier for a reader to put stuff in context that way too! :p

I asked some questions that i found out my self :) so i edited it to not have to spam the thread with  something i had found out already :)

I am wondering now something about monsters, i have all the dlc packs  so is there a way i can create my own monsters?

And while i am at it. How does one create an opening movie  or in game movies or is that something i should do when i am done with the the game ?

I don't want to be mean or anything and I dont want to offend you, but it looks like you just got RPG Maker and now nothing about it. This is fine! We all started there, but please! Try to search guides before posting.

I looked through the board but was overwhelmed by the number of posts and in all that my  mild dyslexia jumbles things up. And the world moderator asked if i needed help with anything  so the Mod offered help so why should i not ask for it.  even saying "Hey here is a link with the info" Is help , like the link you gave me.

I got it yesterday  (through the humble bundle)  and know little about it indeed.

I am learning a lot by doing  ( the way i learn faster) 

I asked it here as I was asked if i needed help with more. If the world moderatorw would not have asked it I would not have asked :)
