I haven't really started using RPG Maker much yet. I'm still in the documentation phase of my first game with it. But I was curious about something and thought I'd ask here.
Naturally in any RPG game your characters have stats, the enemies have stats, and those stats effect each other in battle to determine damage and other factors. Does RPG Maker VX Ace have any sort of default for these stats and the math that goes behind calculating them for damage, healing, crits, etc? Or is all of that mathmatical formulas that I need to develop from scratch on my own? And if so, where would I even start?

It comes pre-programmed with stats and formulas when you start a new project, although you can freely change them and even customize it further with scripts.

In fact I strongly urge you to change the default stats - they are merely there as an example and, imo, are not well balanced.
