changing the battle system?

  1. I'm not to fond of the battle system that is currently on RPG maker Vx ace.

    the encounters was alright for pokemon and other games like it, but i feel it doesnt feel right in this game.

    maybe it depends on the type of game your making but i don't like it.

    Is there a way to change it?

    What i was looking at is the turn based battle, which give each character a certain amount of tiles to move, which was their movement

    A lot like SHINING FORCE. see image below

    can that be changed at all? of is the battle system a core part of the RPG maker?

  2. Scripts can change almost anything in RM, but if you're that new that you haven't even seen the dozens of different battle system scripts available and discussed here, then you might want to go to some tutorials and gain some experience with the default RM before trying to add scripts.

    That said, I currently know of only two tactical battlescripts, and it's not easy to install such more advanced scripts that create map battles. Try to search this forum for "tactical battles" and you should get the topic where those scripts are linked and discussed.
  3. I'm newish, ive seen the scripts but not known what they do so not touched or really looked at them.
