  1. Change Battle Mode

    2015.10.21

    by Shaz

    Introduction

This plugin allows you to switch between front-view and side-view battle mode within a single game, overriding the setting in the System tab.

    How to use

Add to your plugins folder (file name does not matter, but I call mine BattleMode.js).  There are no parameters to set or plugin commands to call.

Prefix a troop name with SV to set battles with that troop to side view

Prefix a troop name with FV to set battles with that troop to front view

Prefix a troop name with RV to randomly choose between front and side view battles each time that troop is encountered

No prefix reverts to the System default

  2. Hi, I love the idea of this plugin so much, and am trying to use it but I don't know what you mean by "Prefix".

I've tried putting SV in the troop name in a number of different ways: SVSlime, SV Slime, SlimeSV, Slime SV, Slime_SV, SV_Slime etc. but it doesn't work.

Could you be a bit more specific or detailed on what you mean by "Prefix" please? I'm not strongly fluent in jargon. Maybe have a screenshot example as well?
It would be so helpful and appreciated!
  3. Yep, that's all you need to do.  Did you actually add the plugin to the js/plugins folder and activate it in the Plugin Manager?
  4. I did all of that but it wasn't working. For some reason it is now after closing the program and re-opening it. Sorry for the trouble, I was quite confused but now I am ecstatic!
  5. Ahh yes, this plugin. Thanks a bunch again, Shaz. This is gonna be sweet....
  6. This is awesome! I love the idea of randomly switching between front and side view. I'm pretty much always looking for something in turn based RPGs to break up battles just a bit, without losing the core.
  7. Just remember if you're going to do random views, you need to provide both the front view and side view of your enemy battlers, as well as side view party battlers.
  8. This could be useful for differentiating Bosses from the grunts.

That's how I plan to use is, grunts are side view while bosses are front view to make them seem grander.
  10. I think that's a great idea - I'd love to have rear-view actors for a front-view battle.

That sounds even cooler, Maybe if enough people request it on forums the company will include it in future stuff, or someone will make the plugin!
  12. Shaz, I got the plugin in th' folder an' tried ta use it but it ain't workin'. I ain't sure what I'm doin wrong. upload_2019-1-29_21-23-35.png
  13. There are no plugin commands for this plugin. Please follow Archeia's instructions.
  14. Oooh a'ight! Thank'ee much!

Where exactly should I add this, huh?

    As I said...

Database -> Troops -> Change name to FV Troop battle name. Not sure how clearer I can get with that.

Prefix a troop name means to put the letters before the troop name.
  17. Is there an update to this plugin? I don't think it's working with the current version.
  18. It's working for me in 1.6.2.

    Check:
    - you have the plugin in the correct folder. Name doesn't matter.
    - you have the plugin added and enabled in the plugin manager.
    - your troops have FV, SV or RV at the start of the name - must be upper case.

If all of those look okay, what other plugins do you have? If you create a brand new project and JUST add and enable this plugin, does it work?
