What the heck are these good for? Well, if you're an experienced artist, not much! The real artists around here run circles around me. (It's very humbling.) However, for the rest of us, templates make it easier to customize our own unique mobs. These monster heads have been placed on normal blank bodies (recolored to match, obvs) so that you can play dress-up with clothing and other generator resources. With very minimal effort (just a quick recolor and copy/pasting the clothes from generator resources), you can do something like this:

The orc from VXA! (The monster used to make this template is SF_Monster 6, the hairy purple dude.) To look more like the VXA version, I also made him with smaller ears (from the imp) and added a mouth (edit from the chef/butcher). And here's a battler to go with him!

I've attached a zip with the files you need to use these enemy races in the Generator. You MUST have the updated RMMV so the part numbering works. I use the low 700-750 range numbers. Also note that some manual edits may be required where the FacialMark doesn't cover the human body completely (specifically the orc and minotaur TV characters)! The best and easiest solution to this problem is to temporarily rename your human topview base body when using these race options.

    Skeletons:

Nude skeleton works well in conjunction with AlephNull's SV battler and Avery's skeleton face for a fully playable skeleton character!

(Be sure to follow all terms of the other artists!)

Gabrelik made a centipede edit of these that you can find on his thread.

Harpies/Succubi: (I left the wings off of the template so it's easier to customize your own.)

  2. your terms made me laugh! =]

    Skeleton minions - good idea!
  3. Liked the resources, keep them coming, buddy.
  4. Thank you, the original sprite is really awful.
  5. these are gr8, no bones about it.

Saw what you did there. ;)
  7. Added Minotaur and Centaur sprites.
  8. Great work with this! They all look very smooth and mesh well with the rtp. Looking forward for more '3'

Feel very free to ignore me for this, but how about some harpies? Harpies are nice...*gets punted off*
  9. Good idea, Indrah. I took a stab at making you some Frankenharpies! They're a combination of the female base and the imp sprite. The last one also has a beak from one of the big monster sheets. I left the wings off the template so it's easier to customize.

Oh now that is sweet! I like the masked one on the end.
  11. These are awesome :)

I'm curious, do you have other plans for other races/species? Since you mentioned that it's mostly frankenspriting, have you tried mashing (Maybe with a little stretching) together a dwarf of some kind?
  12. Yeah, a lot of things I really liked in Ace didn't get made for MV. Right now I'm working on recreating some of them. I have a limited skill set though, so somebody else will probably do a better job before I manage to make anything satisfactory.

For a dwarf, the chef/butcher dude might work. And... hmm... well, it's just a wild thought but a recolored Ace sprite or Ace franken might actually work. (assuming you own both engines).
  13. Ho , the same day and already harpies O_O (Man the last one looks so bamf I don't even)

If you want to do more demi-humans some other monster types that tend to be popular: nagas/lamias, mermaids, bug/spider people (may be hard to pull off tho), dragon-folk (and in generally horns and "accessories" for dragonoids and demons)...and I can't think of more right now.

Or even more variations from the "default" monsters would be neato. More imp types (diff horns/colors), ghosts, orcs, fairies. I dunno, anything. That kinda stuff is always useful when you want to have large npc groups with ranks (orc soldiers/generals/villagers, you know the drill).

Anything is cool. This kind of stuff is really useful because it's not as customization dependant as regular character art, so it's a lot more usable.

Anyway, ignore my rambling. Thanks for the resources~
  14. Thanks for the ideas. I added one that is colored to match the Big Monster that I borrowed the beak from. I'll fill up the rest of the sheet eventually.
  15. Say.... could you do a goblin? A kinda cute one?

I need loooots of non humans for my game and i am not that good at making spirits ><
  16. Please understand that I'm doing frankensprites. All I do is copy/paste, mix-and-match, and recolor existing parts. That is literally the extent of my skills. I'm not a real artist. I'm happy to make a franken for you; I just don't want you to think I'm making original work here. So if you want a goblin, I could take the head off another monster, recolor, remove hair/ears/whatever, and plop it on a child body. Take a look at the monsters and let me know which head you'd rather have.

Maybe my resource shack is useful for you?
  18. @Chalkdust

I was thinking the same thing for a possible body base. ^_^

It was just food for thought though! So far I've seen a lot of wonderful alternative races but nothing (that I'm aware of) for the dwarves.

I do like what you've done and I hope you continue making more!
  19. New addition: sci-fi mech based on Big Monster 1.
  20. Hmmmmm... not quite what I had in mind^^
