The year is 1998 on an alternative Earth where Rabbits, not man became the dominate species.  The country is an alternative Japan in the home of a family, Happy, Angry, Hina, Jin, Sai, & Akari.  Dog has lived a relative peaceful life until one day on a walk, Happy discovers a lost kitten.. This tiny kitten melted her heart, so she took this kitten home with her and called her 'Cat'.  Life was great for the family with the birth of their latest child, they decided to move into a home closer to Angry's work, so he could be more involved with his children's lives.

They pack their belongs, including their pets: Cat & Dog.  Sadly, due to a scared little kitten, they become lost in the city and must find their way back home through Samurai dogs, Yakuza Cats and an occasional Buddhist Monk mouse or two.  You must dig through garbage cans, hunt, find places to sleep as you do quests for local pets, even earn credits in a hidden city.

Genre: Tactical Adventure RPG or so it has been suggested

Game Flavor: It will have a bit of comedy in a modern setting

OTHER CHARACTERS:  These characters will be in the game only in the beginning & the end.

Happy - A manga artist whose long running series that's partial inspired by her daily life.  She is adventurous, wild, loves western food, loves Gothic Lolita clothes, plus, has a habit of getting into trouble.

Angry - A lawyer, who has a bit of a temper, but in public is very polite.  He is very traditional, loves Japanese food, but realizes that his life would be boring without Happy. Secretively loves Happy's western food.

Sai- Two year old twin of Akari

Akari- Two year old twin of Sai

Setting: This game takes place in an alternative Tokyo, Japan, because I do not know everything about Japan.  If I use what I do know with a tad bit of creative license, I can create an alternative Japan.  This game will take place in the year: 1990 - 2000.

    WORLD DEVELOPMENT

As I said, this takes place in an alternative Earth and as such, there are places that do not exist in our world. Cadong - the capital city of the cats and dogs, each has a royal family.

Tiny settlements - This is where you mostly will go, to get credits, missions, & meet other dogs/cats.

Gangs - Groups of homeless pets or animals without homes.  They do not live by the rules set down by the leaders, and do whatever they please.  They are not allowed in the cities, whatsoever.

    Latest news:

I am thinking of adding achievements to my game, some comedy that jokes and kind of makes fun of achievements and some serious real ones.  I want achievements that you see and kind of laugh, because it's funny, you know exactly what I am saying.  At the same time, I am not certain about this and want to hear people's point of view.  Question: What do you think of this approach?

  2. what is the game genre
  3. I am not certain. You will be searching for a way home, as you complete missions to survive, hunt for food.  I am hoping to add a bit of humor, but there will be a serious tone. There will be plenty of story, and debating about adding a battle system, but no leveling up. If anyone has suggestion for the genre, I could use some help.
  4. I had taken a break from this project, worked on graphics, but continued making it.  It is, also, a commercial project.  I have a brand new logo from supercow, a brand new background using graphics from Pandamaru. I think it's funny and shows what the whole game is about with a single picture.  I hope to give more information, but working on my kickstarter to have custom music, some faces and a couple of custom charactersets that I can not make.

  5. UPDATE - a video for my game, please give me feed back.
  6. interesting it sure the Panel seem weird in the gardent a little xD...but the mapping is so great!
  7. I removed that strange panel in the video, but I might change the music.. What did you think of the music.
  8. This reminds me of Homeward bound a little bit.  I like the concept!  I've made game prototypes similar to this.  Good work on it, hope to play it when released.
  9. Thank you very much!  I love animals so much, almost child like and innocent, with so many types of characters like humans.
  10. I have a gift for you, today to support my game... an animated sleeping Cat gif for you signature...

  11. The good news is that I have a couple of updates, first of all, is a new graphic that I had to share... when Happy meet Cat is going to be a flashback in the game.  This is how Cat looked back then, as a lost kitten...

And next someone drew Cat's face, that I find absolutely cute.  Here's an example.. so cute.

I am having a bit of trouble coming up with status icons for the three states...

    sick

    food poisoning

dysentery (fancy word for the runs)
  12. Jalice's Cat's face is very well done, indeed  :rock-right:    And thank so much for the sleeping cat .gif  ;)

As for your game, is it possible for you to host the demo outside of Steam? I don't have an account and it really bothers me to make one...
  13. Yeah, I can do that, but I am in the middle of updating the demo with an added story and stuff... I am going to be updating the game within the next few days, hopefully, so I will have a non steam download, too.  I have to, since I am going to have a kickstarter for this game..(^_^)  The one bad thing is a lack of rabbit charactersets, because they haven't been created, yet.
  14. I discovered that my demo is massively out of date and since I had computer trouble that forced me to restart the demo... I am hoping to update it and have another download in a couple of days.  I am so sorry for this set back, but luckily I seem to remember what I need to create (maps wise).
  15. Test players call.  I am searching for test players to make sure we don't have bugs, misspellings and other errors.  Due to the theft of two other games by the same person, I am going to be very picky about who I pick, so if you want to test play this game, PM me or ask here.  If I chose you, I will send you the link to the game and ask you not to give it out to anyone else.  I am very concerned about my game, and I know that if someone wants me to steal my game... nothing can stop anyone from doing it.
  16. I'd be glad to lend you a hand  :)
  17. This sounds like a lot of fun! I want to see some Yakuza cats. :D I'd love to test play your game.
  18. Meow :3 This looks like a meowy game nya~ Meow the cat looks like Chi from Chi's Sweet Home  meow :3
  19. Thanks! Yeah, I based the looks on the cat from Chi's Sweet Home, since I loved that anime and manga.

Meanwhile, an updated screenshot.  Any guesses about the mystical force that Cat's talking about?

  20. I've given a try to your game yesterday and already found some nasty bugs, one in particular prevented me to keep on playing:

    - the first bug happens in the very first map, the tutorial one: although I read all of the 5 signs, there was no way to exit the map; the character nearby the exit told me that my variable was 0, which I suppose meant I didn't trigger the exit event – so I launched a new game but didn't follow the tutorial this time, and I could access the second map...

    - on this one, this is not a bug strictly speaking but it is a bit annoying that the dialog with the white cat happens right behind the table where our level of thirst and hunger is written: it took me a moment to figure where was the party and with who they were talking to. Also, it looks a bit weird that we can walk on the lowest side of the wooden bridge but not the other although it is wide enough for this.

    - this map presents some weird passability issues IMO: there are some grass parts you can walk through and some others with the same tiles that you can't – I found it annoying to have to find my way in checking every three other sides of almost every tile I had just come in in order to progress further. There was no problem outside the grass but I couldn't get onto the wooden catwalk to grab the pink item with Cat's head on. Also, I found weird that I couldn't walk onto the little pebbles which, obviously, are not big enough to prevent the passage...

    - the worst happens a bit later when I tried to enter the house of the grey cat who was supposed to help Cat and Dog: I gave the password to the guardian but because I had walked around I arrived to him from the left and he couldn't slide to let me go inside, I got stuck here, unable to move; I had to load a save game to try again, arriving from the right this time and could enter the house but then I got stuck in the passage towards the living room and couldn't move backwards or on a side tile although the grey cat inside the house could move freely around – I loaded a save again and attempted to go into the living room again but in passing onto another tile of this two tiles wide passage: I got stuck again and it is when I decided to stop my playtest, unable to see what else I could do...
