Cannot Start Knight Blade - Demo Game

I thought I could run the demo game without installing XP (which I own but didn't want on this computer.) But I get an error. Is it possible to run this on my Windows 8 laptop, or will I have to use my /me shudders Steam account and download XP and open the game that way? Thanks. And, btw, the entire rest of the forum is empty/ echo....... empty/ Am I in the wrong place??

Granny, the forum isn't empty! It just has weird settings. Go to Custom and make sure the Time Frame is set to Show All.

As for the error, do you have any other XP games on your computer? You might be able to copy the missing file from them.

I have some Aveyond games, but I am assuming I cannot get to files like that. (they were purchased oh so many years ago by my daughter)

I guess I could break down and install XP. Bleh. I have the world's most cluttered digital life!

You can. (At least I can.) You should be able to find it under Progam Files/Aveyond

If not, I can list some small games which have that dll as well.

The Aveyond games don't all use the same dll - look at the earlier ones. I think the latter ones used 103, not 102.

You should be able to change the used library version by modifying the "Game.ini" file with a text editor, so you can run the game with the RGSS104e.dll too.

Okay, found it (in Lords of Twilight, gates of Night and Aveyond 2)
