A lonely songwriter finds himself marooned on a strange, dream-like island where anything appears possible. Sheet music rains from the clouds, the horizon fades into the sky, and the few inhabitants that he comes across speak in strange tongues and peculiar riddles.
As the surroundings become increasingly impossible and enigmatic, he comes across Her, a lone girl, asleep and unable to wake. Becoming his muse and his inspiration, the songwriter continues on his way on a quest to wake her from her slumber and put together a perfect song for the moment her eyes open. Along the way, the island shifts from the bizarre to the mundane, and it becomes more evident that nothing is at all what it seems.

Cadence aims to be a simple point and click game with plenty of mysteries and oddities to solve, whilst delivering a somewhat ambiguous and odd story through interaction and experience. To that end, every aspect - the music, the maps, the item descriptions, the short interactions with everything - will be tailored to this. I'm aiming for this to be quite a sensory experience with the gameplay being intertwined a whole lot with the presentation.Oddly enough, the best way to describe what I'm going for in terms of delivering the story would be Dark Souls, mainly because the whole thing won't be handed to you from the get go. It'll take a little thought to fully understand what's going on and how it ends, and to that end the entire storytelling aspect of the game will be as minimal and non-expository as possible. I want to put you in the POV, and have you come to your own conclusions. It's gonna be fun!
