Since there is an interest in pre-made houses, what theme would you like to see released first? Since I'm sure we'd do all themes eventually, but will work on the one with the most interest first. All themes are done in the RTP style.
The choices so far are:
- Medieval
- Modern
- Futuristic
Medieval would fit the default RTP in the sense that it has the same style of graphics, as well as fit in the medieval fantasy theme. The modern one will also be RTP styled graphics, and fit with the Modern Day Tiles that Lunarea has created. The futuristic ones will fit with the Futuristic Tiles.

I think we have enough Medieval houses, so I'm leaning towards Futuristic and Modern. People will likely vote for the first, though ;D
-
Futuristic is lacking the most in exterior resources, so futuristic.
-
I still like the medieval/fantasy genre the best.
I had a new question about the kind of houses/tiles you will make. Will you make big special buildings, too? Like a watch tower, a lighthouse or a castle or a mansion (for the medieval genre)? I could see those buildings being useful as premade since big buildings are complicated to do, even with parallax.
And will you maybe offer the buildings in two variants, with and without the decoration? I think, this would be helpful for those who like to parallax. -
Agree on the Futuristic theme. I already have the futuristic tileset for interiors, but exteriors are definitely needed.
-
I vote futuristic because that is lacking in exterior resources. Medieval resources are the most plentiful already, but it would be great to have more resources for sci-fi futuristic games.

I don't understand about the no decoration though - do you mean no windows ... ?
I had actually planned on doing buildings for the Futuristic Tiles, but scrapped it since it was time consuming. Hence the lack of exterior tiles ...I vote futuristic because that is lacking in exterior resources. Good to hear. I mean things like shop signs, lanterns, vines on the walls, chimneys, just decorative items on the house.
-
No, I wouldn't do that - those things make it unique. I think you're looking at it too much from an artist perspective - you're looking for things you can use to create new buildings. But this set isn't directed towards people like you who can easily make their own buildings, but at people who CAN'T make their own buildings.
-
Well, okay, I was just looking, if the pack would be useful for people like me, too. And one easy way would have been to make a variant of the premade houses without the decoration so you can use it as a more neutral house or give it your own touch. But I don't know what premade houses you have in mind and if that would even be an option.
-
Tough choice for me. Each one has it's own charm, uniqueness and usefulness. Since I can only choose one, I voted for medieval, but I'll get any of the packs regardless of the order they are released in. I'd actually prefer whatever theme the resource pack creator(s) are more interested in creating at any point of time as I love to see what works of art they can imagine and create.

YESSSSS! medieval is in the lead!
Oh, you could also make it so the premade tiles can have tiles placed over them, so people can edit them as they like; or take tiles from other premade houses and mix and match -
I will say Sci-fi and modern, because medieval have enough resource for building an house.
the Sci-fi and modern are in lack of resources for builds good exteriors city. Even, some people done resource for these era, we don't have enough "tiles" for build varied exteriors maps or the tiles mismatch between them.
so it will be cool to have some pre made modern day building or decoration to for make our modern maps more attractive and "living" -
It's hard for me to say. I think there are a lot of games that are not modern or futuristic, but not medieval either. There are so many time/historical periods, architecture styles, material textures that occur between medieval Europe and today. Though, I understand that it must be immensely challenging to encompass all of that. We'd need many more Celiannas. The true issue here is that cloning technology is still in its infancy.

maybe rpg maker could employ others to make tile sets? Paying them a % of the profits from the tile sets they help create
-
It's the artists who are rare, actually. Finding ones who can do decent quality sets, don't mind working within the software restrictions and don't have a problem with how much work is involved making just one full pack is very difficult. In my experience artists of that caliber have their pick of programmers begging to put their game together, willing to build an engine around the way they want to work.
-
That's how the majority of the packs in our store are created right now. :)maybe rpg maker could employ others to make tile sets? Paying them a % of the profits from the tile sets they help create

Medieval, but I'm totally biased ;)
-
Hi,
I'd have to say medieval because that's something which really interests me. I always missed medieval type buildings in RPG Maker so now its a good time to add it in. When do you think we will get this new pack Luna or Celianna?

Due to the majority of votes going to medieval, I'll be focusing on medieval first (futuristic second).
@Miffy: I honestly have no idea, but hopefully not too long.
