    Jack:"Okey dokey!"
Jack is a young boy who lives with his parent and his dog Buddy in the suburbs of Hamburgerville. He is a bit of a nerd who wants to become an astronaut when he grows up. His most cherished possession is the 'Big Book of Jokes' which contains an endless amount of jokes, riddles and puns.

Buddy:"Uh-oh... Are we in trouble again?"
Buddy is a small mixed-breed orange dog. He is Jack's best friend and they love to joke around with each other. He is quite clever and also very mischievous, which means he tends to get into all sorts of trouble. When Buddy is not getting into any trouble he's either eating or taking a nice long nap.

    Buddy's Bone:"..."
Every dog enjoys having something to chew on, whether its shoes, furniture, or a nice tasty bone. Buddy's bone is a large, tasty, raw beef bone. The kind of bone that every dog dreams about! Unfortunately, it seems to have dissapeared without a trace.
  2. This game was super cute and fun to play. I love the custom artwork and you did a really nice job altogether! :LZSexcite:
  3. Such a wholesome game! Loved the battle mechanics! The graphics were pretty awesome. Also loved the jokes! Great job ^^
  4. Hello lovely RPG Maker people, I can't believe it's been so long!

I recently got back into RPG Maker to finish an old abandoned project and decided to update this one as well.

Based on feedback I made the following changes:
    - Changed the font to improve readability.
    - Added name boxes to display character names.
    - Added icons to items and skills.
    - Added rebinding for keys.
    - Changed some dialogue to better guide the player.
    - Made some minor graphical changes.

Thanks to everyone who provided feedback. <3
  5. This needs a full 20 hour game!!
  6. Thanks! Unfortunately I have a rather short attention span, but maybe it will happen one day. <3
  7. I have a similar issue. Always willing to help.
  8. Finally, the best RPG Maker game ever made.
  9. This is extremaly adorable!
  10. How frikin cuuuuuuuttte!!! <3
  11. This was a really nice short game (~20 mins)! The graphics are good and they fit really well. Some really small things are used to add liveliness to the environments. I especially liked the "thematic battle backgrounds" (first time I've seen them made like that) . I read all the interactions and most of the puns made me smile. I chuckled at the bark confirm sound effect, but it was kind of confusing in battle since your attacks were barks too. Personally I would have added some hit animations too. Also, even though battles weren't exactly the point of the game, I think making them more strategic with some dog themed elements/sequences would have added to the gameplay value. I'm not the biggest fan of the music, but it did fit the style and happy theme. I think a longer version of the game with battles that get a bit more complex, some puzzles and more story themes with this presentation would find a big audience. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate the kind words and pretty much agree with your criticism.

I already have some ideas how to improve various things, but it will be for a new project I will start in the new year.
  14. Hello again everyone! I've been messing around with a new project and made some changes to this game as well.

    - Added animated battlers for the party and the enemies.
    - Added visual effects to indicate inflicting damage and taking damage.
    - Added two rooms, two new enemy encounters and moved some stuff around.
    - Improved things like messy eventing, unorganized maps, cluttered tilesets, etc.

This was my first time drawing animated battlers. With just 3 frames of animation it was a bit challenging to find a balance between a battler moving way too much or way too little, but overall I think they turned out decent. I also changed the main character for various reasons, but primarily because I was thinking about eventually combining different projects into one larger game.

I think the combat is much better than it was. I tried adding timed attacks and having skills require QTEs to execute, but that just makes fights take way too long. For now I will just leave it like it is, but I am open to any ideas, suggestions or comments.
  15. The art is so cute, this also gives me doraeomon vibes for some reason
  16. Thanks! Maybe the circular glasses reminded you of Nobita from Doraemon?

A friend said the kid looks like Harry Potter, but I think I prefer the comparison to Nobita.
