So by default with the yanfly battle core with the sequence pack 2, when an actor uses a skill it does the type animation then goes from there which is great for most things and i have figured out how to remove it where need be.
Now I have created a special slash skill but by default the character does the mouth chanty thing then raises their hands to do the skill. I am trying to figure out how to replace this with the slash or pierce movement that happens by default when an actor selects the basic attack but I am having difficulty figuring it out. I tried putting;
<setup action>MOTION SWING: user</setup action>MOTION SWING: user<Cast Animation: 0>into the note but it doesn't do the sword slash.
Any help with this would be appreciated!

Open your database.
Click on System.
Look at the top right if your skill type is listed there.
At least that's the default way of the engine to decide if it should use the casting animation for a skill. -
It wasn't in there, I just added it and retested but still getting the same thing.

I tried to add the skill to an preexisting type to no avail. If i wanted to get the slash motion is what i entered correct? -
Just to be clear, I want, when the skill is used, for the actor to do this
