to Churchill Games, a company famed for horse-racing, who is now going into other gambling operations and online games.
Why do I anticipate a reduction in hidden object games and a further increase in gambling games and in-app purchase games?

Yeesh... yeah. Expect micro-transactions by the truckload I think in every possible game, perhaps even in hidden object games to buy "hints" etc. Probably make in-game monetisation a requirement for submitted games now D:

I hope this means the return of the RM games on BFG. :o :rock-right: :rock-right: :rock-right:

I would have thought it'd mean even less of a chance. I can't see someone who wants to focus on gambling (ie - quick money) wanting to spend money on as thorough testing as is needed for RPGs.
But that's purely speculation. -
So essentially F2P games. ;)
Many of them have gambling elements by paying for a random loot or something else (Hearthstone Card Packs etc.) -
I stay away from FB games like the plague. All game requests go to my bit bucket --- because the games are carefully built to be so addictive that a lot of players will execute a ton of microtransactions and make the company big money.
In contrast, say, a highly addictive traditional game (or RPG Maker made one) --- all that will "cost" me is time. -
Hmm, I find this intriguing because I've long had an account on BFG. It is in fact where I found Aveyond, and thus made my way into this crazy RM world.
I'm not sure what to think of this except that you are probably exactly right Shaz. And I feel like I need to download all my purchased games now before things change drastically.
I really don't mind games with micro transitions personally, unless you get to those that you cannot proceed without them. I'd rather pay a higher price initially. -
I hadn't thought of that. I've purchased a lot of games through BFG simply to have them all from the same source - makes it easier to reinstall everything when I get a new computer. With the game manager and the way the installation/activation goes, I'm not sure you could just copy a game from one machine to another without reinstalling. Let's hope they don't change things TOO drastically too quickly.
