I've run into this in multiple spots, not sure what I'm doing wrong. Drip sounds in a dungeon, wind sounds in a tower- won't stop once the character has left.
BGS won't stop

That's the way they are intended to run. You need to call a command to stop the BGS when you no longer want them. There's an event command for that.

You don't need to use a command. It's in the Map Properties setting. On the maps where you don't want it to play, check the Autorun BGS option. If you select a BGS, it'll play when you enter that map. But if you leave the BGS blank, it'll force whatever WAS playing on the previous map to stop.
Same with BGM - if you have a map where you don't want any BGM to play, just check the Autoplay BGM box and leave the BGM blank. It'll make it stop any BGM that was previously playing before entering the map.
The event commands are useful if you want it to stop playing while you're on the same map, but doing the above means you don't have to use them when changing maps. -
Thanks guys! I'm a newbie, but I'm learning

@Shaz but that way usually makes it sound jarring specifically on slow computers. I usually put a quick fade out bgm/bgs in my transfer event, but as a common event so if you have to change it, it changes all of them for continuity.
