Battles and Equipment:
Spoiler
Beyond the Veil's battle system uses a highly altered ATB, which makes the battles more dynamic and faster. Each action we perform will cost us our Stamina (which is increased by our Agility stat), that recovers on its own. Additionally each action have Recovery Frames, which determine how fast after the action we can recover and perform another action. Ex. jabbing a dagger, or throwing a bomb is way faster, than swinging a huge two-handed sword.
Most of the fights are 1v1 by default, but I have added a reinforcement mechanics - whenever we start a battle with an enemy, if there are more enemies within certain range, they'll join the battle. This can turn the tides very fast.
Each character can wear all kinds of equipment, limited only by stat requirements. Those equipments are: Weapon, Shield, Helmet, Armor, 4 Rings and an Amulet. Amulets determine how many skills, or spells, can a character have at given time.
Weapons, apart from strength and the damage dealt, differ with a few more things. They can vary with damage type dealt - Slashing, Thrusting or Striking. Some weapons can also deal more than one type of damage, ie. a Long Sword can be used for Slashing, or Thrusting into the enemy. Enemies will have weaknesses and resistances to various kinds of damage. Additionally, each weapon will have its own innate skill, that costs both Stamina and Focus to use, but will open up some extra options in the battle.
The last difference between weapons we find is it's Scaling. Scaling changes how much of our Strength is added onto the weapon's base damage. The better the scaling (ranging from E to A), the more gets added, and thus makes the effect of our Strength better.
