I do not understand, will this make my game run well on the windown?
-
Didn't know this thread exist. And I know that video, and old one since 2015. So I thought it's dead. Are u still developing it?
-
confused—would it not work on Mac?
-
most probably not - because midi-files are NOT audio files.confused—would it not work on Mac?
MIDI is a notation format, which means you'll need a synthesizer to convert the notation into audio - and different computers have different synthesizers.
That was the reason why MIDI was abandoned as soon as the storage limits went high enough to allow for regular audiofiles - the same midi played differently on different computers depending on the quality of the available synthesizers (who were sometimes really cheap and bad). -
Sorry, only work for Windows.confused—would it not work on Mac?
Because this uses GM MIDI playing system included in Windows. (Same as RPG Maker XP or older).
Yes, In 2015, this system had critical problem: very very low FPS.Didn't know this thread exist. And I know that video, and old one since 2015. So I thought it's dead. Are u still developing it?
But in 2018, I succeeded in fixing this problem. So I released this in public websites. -
That's strange. The midis don't work, just bgm silence in your demo. I'm on Windows and have the program allowed.
-
read my reply a few posts above. THAT is one of the reasons why MIDIs are disused in modern gaming: the playing of MIDI requires the player's computer to be setup with a synthesizer capable of playing MIDI. Just try to doubleclick any MIDI file - if it doesn't play but asks for a program to use with, then you don't have a synthesizer setup on your computer. The midis don't work,
-
Yes I know. But I assumed it was fine because I've never had a problem since I've always been able to play midis since my computer by default opens the windows media audio player to play them seemingly fine. :LZYdizzy: But yeah, I understand the issues that can come with it. I think instead I'll just try to record the audio with screen capture into a .ogg.
