Hello All,
I'm fairly new to this RPG Maker business. I've been working on a game, which features lots of battles and bossfights, thereby requiring a epic battle system. I've searched the forums extensively, and found many battlers, but I wanted to to ask you all, which one would you recommend to others, and which is your own personal favourite? I'm sure most of you veterans have had the opportunity to test most of them, so I would like to ask.
THank you in advance, and don't hesitate to move if I have posted this in the wrong section.
Best Battler for VX Ace?

Hmm..
Do you mean Battle System?
Such as: Turn Based, Active Time Battle, Action Battle, Tactical Battle?
Or do you mean Battler?
Which is the picture graphic for an enemy. -
Sorry for the confusion, I mean the battle system, like Battle Symphony, XAS and others.
As I said, I'm fairly new, so do excuse any faux pas I may make. -
No problem Dev!
Just wanted to make sure so no one who wants to answer is confused.
To answer your question however, it all depends on the kind of game you have in mind, and the resources you have available.
I know this is not REALLY an answer but it is probably the most accurate IMO. Here are some examples and reasons I say this:
Ex1: Side battler's can look great and interactive, but if you don't have the resources to make the battle animations for your sprites, then a side view really loses its shine.
Ex2: A game that focuses on in depths tactics where a player needs time to think and calculate each move may not be suitable for an action based game where things are happening in real time (unless you want real time tactics)
Ex3: Action Battle like MMO's are fun to play, but require a bit more resources like the side view example.
Ex4: A light-hearted cutsie story based game where fighting is unimportant, would not benefit as much from a complicated system. when the default could be sufficient.
So the unfortunate answer is that it really depends on a lot of factors. =\

Ah, I see. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I"m going to go with the default for now, while I try out the other battle scripts in a expendable project. Thanks again!

I think that's a great idea =)
Once you get a better idea of the kind of game you are planning, setting, tone, characters, tactics, etc. I think you will be able to select the most fitting Battle System.
Thanks to the several amazing scripters in the community, all of them have great features. It's just a matter of which works best for you!
Good luck!
