Barrier with HP

  1. I'm looking for a method with which I can set up "destructible barriers" for use in battles.

    Something which can be used in skills (possibly through states) to effectively add a second HP bar to a character, which takes damage in their stead until depleted, at which point it vanishes.

    Ideally, these could be set up to ignore normal healing (which instead goes to the normal healthbar) and only be replenishable via special skills or items.

    Some skills or weapons could also be set with tags to bypass these barriers to some degree, such as 1/1 or 1/4.
  2. I'll bump this, since I hope that something like this (either through script or events) would be very useful to people's projects, but I doubt I'll get a response since I haven't contributed anything myself yet.

    Great! I wish you well with it, and hope that it isn't asking you to go to too much trouble.
  5. Got something, but stuck on how to implement any graphics so you know how much is left on the barrier. Will do some research and see what I can come up with.

    Edit: Got a beta version. PM'ing it to you to test. I was starting to add features that I'll want but had no idea if you wanted so you will see some variables that are not used in the initialization.
