Hi all,
Some of you oldies may recognize me from the old rpgmakervx.net community several years ago. Sadly, I've not had much time to continue as an active member of the forums since. I still do love the community here, though, which is why I'd like to offer tracks from my non-exclusive library free to use. Feel free to use any five of these tracks in your non-commercial games (sorry for the limit, but I do want to limit the use of the tracks a bit so that those who pay to use them in commercial games retain some measure of exclusivity). If you use these, please do credit me (Aakaash Rao) and add a link to my website, www.notebynotestudios.com.
Here's the link - enjoy! (Alternatively, check out the pieces on my Soundcloud.)

I followed the link. Sounds AWESOME! I wish I had met you sooner since my game is finishing-up now. Maybe I'll look at a few sections to see if I can fit some of your music in. I realize that these are only for non-commercial games, so obviously I am willing to pay for some of your work as well. You can pm me anytime at: justin@ultimatefantasystudio.com
Have a great day! -
Oh my...
I listened so some of your pieces. Absolutely breath-taking. I'm literally in tears over 'A Dusting of Snow'.. wow.. -
If I could give you more likes, I would :)

Quite missed your musics. -
you are all linked up in the Music section of my Resource Showcase Directory, my friend.
-
Impressive stuff, would be even better with a soundcloud link ;)
-
Thanks everyone! @Scythuz- I'm afraid that I need to reserve my Soundcloud time for my professional portofolio. If I ever do decide to upgrade to a paid account, I will certainly upload these.
-
These tracks are great! I love "Shadows", it would sound perfect in my project. Thank you for sharing your work.
-
Only listened to "A Dusting of Snow" so far, but wow, what an amazing track! I'm looking forward to listening to the rest, and might use some of it in my game if it's as good as this first one.
Kudos man! -
@Joerao That's a shame, I can certainly recommend soundcloud pro to you, even my page is started to become organised since I got it.
Also while i'm here, do you mind if I ask what samples or plugins you used for the instruments in A Dusting of Snow, they're very good. -
I just checked out the pricing plans and it looks like they've dropped the pro pricing quite significantly (or maybe they added a new plan). In either case, I decided to upgrade. :p Here's the Soundcloud link with all of those pieces.
I used the instruments from QL Silk in that piece. It's a really incredible library, and I highly recommend it (though wait until it's on sale, as the company that makes it often gives huge discounts around the holidays). -
Awesome man! I'll definitely check out QL Silk too!
-
Just updated the Soundcloud and library with two new pieces- Monastery and Mountaineering. I was very pleased with how the latter came out, so let me know what you think!
-
I absolutely love "Emerald Cave" as well as some of the others. It's great stuff! Well done and thank you.
Some of it sounds too good to be free, but i'm new to this scene... Best of luck with it all! -
Thanks - glad you liked them!

Nice to see your return. Just out of curiosity, I'm trying to understand your terms. A lot of these tracks I collected back in the days of RRR and VX. Does the limit of 5 tracks pertain to them as well for non-commercial games, and is that 5 per non-commercial project or 5 total?
Just wanted to understand that in the event I ever use any of your music. -
Hi Amerk - please feel free to use whatever tracks you like from back before I imposed the limit, even if they're here as well, in addition to five new tracks from this library if you'd like. The limit is five per project.
-
It's no problem. I'm a lot like Grandma Deb in that horde so many resources (audio) included, that it's sometimes hard to keep track of terms for each one. Thanks for the clarification... and for being generous enough to provide us with your music.
-
This is why I keep copies of resource posts - I feel like a complete compulsive, but it is the easiest way to keep straight exactly the terms I agreed to.Hi Amerk - please feel free to use whatever tracks you like from back before I imposed the limit, even if they're here as well, in addition to five new tracks from this library if you'd like. The limit is five per project.
The downside is that when I add new materials and terms have changed I have to keep redoing it.
Bleh. High cost of resource hoarding =D
