Once again I'm here to make a fool of myself, as I don't understand what's going on and maybe someone here can enlighten me as to what I'm doing wrong. I made a cutscene that goes to this map that plays what I showed images of, and then my character doesn't come back to that map for a while but when she does... it plays over again and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong since I used switches and everything. I feel like I'm having some kind of breakdown with how I keep finding ways to mess up my game lol
I hope the image isn't too big... I tried to show all of the events that are involved. The top row (top 3 images) are of the character Widget, the middle row + some overflow below the second image (middle 4 images) are of the character Revisk, and the bottom images (lower right 2 images) is of one of the wisps, but the other wisps have the same event, just in different locations.
Autorun event repeats itself when I reenter map.

1) each ccutscene needs a single controlling autorun event, all other events need to be remote controller placeholders without any ccontent or command.
That has nothing to do with your error, but will prevent a lot of other problems.
2) cutscenes need to be switched off, because autoruns will always repeat and erase event only works in memory (erased events will be restored on mapload). -
Like, all of the switches I used in the event turned off? I did try that, unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying. I have a hard time understanding things sometimes, sorry :(

it seems like you forgot to turn off a couple of swtiches.
Right after Event Widget gets to: Control Switches: [0362:widgetmove] = ON, turn of Switch 0427:Widget.
On your event Revisk, be sure to turn off Switch 0426:revisk at the top of page 2.
Since both 0427 and 0426 stay on, when you re-enter the map, it will start were those switches are turned on. -
Thank you, but my issue still happens. So I may need to just make a new map that's an exact copy of the current one for later when my character comes back to it :( I hate to do this, but I dunno how else to fix it.
Honestly I probably did something to bork it. This wouldn't be the first time lol. -
please tell us what is supposed to happen and how the switches are supposed to work, then we can check.
additionally it would be better to attach one picture for each event page - my answer above was without checking your exact code because the forum software made the big picture too small to read.
Yes, you misunderstood what I was saying. "switching off" an event page is something that uses a single self-switch (not any regular switch) turned on to disable all other event pages at the end of the cutscene. It is named in such way because it is a common technique used and needed for most cutscene events.Like, all of the switches I used in the event turned off? I did try that, unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying. -
Actually, you (Andar) and kamuipsyus fixed my problem, especially now that I realize what you were trying to say. This is embarrassing, but I forgot that I needed to go back and play through the part with the cutscene and not my current save file in order to see the changes with the cutscene happen, haha... I was trying to see if it changed without realizing that the save file remembers every little thing!
This thread can be closed now if anyone wishes to, as my problem's been solved (adding a switch turning off the previous event on the second page worked).
Edit: I learned I have to report a post to get it resolved. Sorry! :( -
This thread is being closed, due to being solved. If for some reason you would like this thread re-opened, please report this post and leave a message why. Thank you.
