  1. Hello, I'm working through the tutorial and am on part 4 where it's talking about Creating Weapons and Armor and filling out the General Settings of each item. In the example for the General Settings box for the Cloth Shirt when I go to double click on the Icon window to choose what the item will look like, I have a completely different set of icons and do not know how to restore this to the default icons. Anyone know how to fix this? The ones that show up are all on a purple background instead of the transparent black and blue tiling that is behind the pictured item. I'll try to include a picture of what I see.

    Thanks,

    TJ

  2. Go to your RPg Maker VX Ace folder in the steam apps folder, then go to RTP > System and the icon set should be there.\

If your not using steam just go to where you downloaded RPG Maker.
  3. Start a clean (new) project and go to the Material Base.  Export icons.png (under Graphics -> System).  Then, import that into this project.

Went there and couldn't find any of those icons in any of these folders. Do you know which one it should be in?

  5. It would be under System, called "IconSet.png". It's a single file with ALL icons. If it's not there, then...I dunno. You can always download the RTP separately for free from this site.

If you start a new project, do you have the same problem?

Tried doing that and found the correct Iconset. However, each time I import the file into my project it's showing up with a green background instead of transparent. Any ideas? I made sure to click "clear" on the transparent and translucent options. When I click on Clear it shows black for each box.

If I start a new project all the default icons show up just fine. But when I export that icons.png and then import it into the current project I am working on, it shows up with a green background for the icons instead of transparent. So I've found the correct icons but now they are not showing with transparent backgrounds. lol one thing after another I swear... :/

  8. Usually, if you delete the icon set currently in the game, RPG maker auto restores the original. To try that, go to tools -> Database manager, then select system. See if the file called iconset has a red dot by it. If so, try to delete it, and a new one with a blue dot (the original) should appear.

Praise Jeebus haleluja! That worked! Going in there and deleting the Iconset file with the Red Dot next to it got rid of that one and the default version with transparent backgrounds came right up. Thank you so much dude!

The problem is that you were clicking "clear", which sets the transparent/translucent color back to full black.  You should have clicked on the green area for the transparent color.

Anyhow, glad it's working for you again.
