Hello everyone! It is almost April, and for most of us the weather is nice., allowing us to get outside for a while. Just remember to work on your game some too, May will be here before you know it. Post your goals and progress below for the month of April.
  2. Great thread. I suppose my main goal is the same as many others here and that's to release the new update of my game here this month. Oh and with as few bugs as possible.

Best of luck to everyone on their April goals.
  3. Welp, I at least got somewhere with my goals last month. Not extremely far, but somewhere.
    My goals:
    - Finish the shop tents
    - Try and get my team to get back together for the collab
    - Make some more NPC sprites (uuuugggggghhhh, no more sprites T_T)
    - Get my workshop up and running again (It's kind of gathering dust right now, RIP)
    - Start on gameplay and music
That's a lot of goals. This is going to be an interesting month....
  4. I'll post mine too as well:

    April Goals:
    -Finish updating the Crossroads.
-Make the last cutscene that is still static (the chapter 8 end/start of Chapter 9 scene) not static.
-Update the remaining 4 endings so they are not static.

    Flex Goal:
-Write the Manual for the game.
-Make animations for the skills that still need them, as many that are reasonable to do in a month.
-Play through the entire game again this month to make sure bugs are squashed, all art is in the right place, and so on (can only do if I complete the initial goals though).
  5. I haven't seriously looked at my project in... a year? Almost that long. I'm setting myself a modest goal for the month of April: Make a to-do list.

Open up the project, look at what I have, figure out what needs doing, and then make a plan. I'm sure I'll pick away at a few things in the process, but the important thing is to actually have a plan going forward.
  6. Since I was sick for a large part of March I am moving the goal from last month to this one:
-Creating the first playable demo of my game (opening cutscene, first level, first boss)
Since I did start last month I am adding a extra goal:
-Get an internal team to playtest the prototype and iron out bugs from the demo
  7. My goal is to finish my Health system plugin ... and then start my race, class, gender character creation plugin. Although I also have a very experimental idea I might play around with as well.
  8. Beta test a game ^^

Depending on how long that takes, do some scripting for another game
  9. Ah, April. I wasn't going to post my goals until March was finished, as I thought I'd get in a couple more days this weekend. Having to work due to an emergency is going to put a hole in that plan (I love working in IT in a bank)! So ...

    April goals:
    • play the skeleton (plot only) game with as many variations as possible via decision making
    • redo the intro cutscene
    • fix the ending cutscenes
    • knock over a large portion of my "to fix" list
    • write a couple of scripts for a couple of people
    Stretch goals:
    • start writing out some new side quests
    • start populating the towns with NPCs
  10. My goals for April
    • Finish off the Strategy Guide
    • Go through my (million and six) choices to identify where I've not disallowed cancel where I should have and not always got the correct choice to be the 'cancel' one.
    • Deal with any final queries from Indinera
    SO THAT
    • The game is released before the end of the month.

you know, you could write a program to do that for you (or get someone to) ;)

What about beta testing? It sounds like you've only had a couple of people play.
  12. Huff! It's been a while.

    GOALS:
    - Release Ceress and Orea.
    - Decide on my next project.
    - Do the paperwork that needs to be done... cough. Taxeeees~
    - Get back to my commission X3
    - Actually play some games...
  13. @Shaz I do have a script (courtesy of Zeriab) which extracts all choices and neatly separates them into battle, common events or on-map. So I can find them quickly. It can also be made to make the 'cancel' button always equal the last choice. However, only I can decide in the concrete instance if that is appropriate, or whether in this particular choice cancel should be disallowed. So that has to be done manually.

Beta-testing has been done by more than a couple of people now.
  14. Yup, I'm doing some beta-testing for Kes ^^
    • Found an issue with two conditional branches
    • Wondered if it was a more general issue
    • Wrote a script which extracted all the choice event commands for easier inspection
    • Found that it was indeed a more general issue
    • Found a bonus bug :D
    • Passed everything on to Kes to fix
Standard testing stuff. Now, forwards to try and break Kes's lovely game as much as possible.
Note: As a true tester, every bug you find is a win. Just remember not to sound too happy when you pass on your results to the developers.

Edit: Whoops, it's still not April
  15. @Zeriab wow! Great testing work!
  16. @Zeriab bonus bugs are awesome! I like finding bugs, but I also like fixing them - when they cooperate.
  17. Release Kes' game before mid April.
Select a plot of mine to create another game due for release this year.

It sounds like you've only had a couple of people play.

But, but, but... I'm worth 300 men. :guffaw::thumbsup-left:

not to sound too happy when you pass on your results to the developers.

    Happy? Pissed off ya mean.
    Me big meanie. :razz::rock-right:
  18. My goal is simple: release something!
(Yes, I know the event was last month but I didn't make it)
  19. What I think I can get done:
    • Concept designs for my main characters.
    • Write out the backstories for them.
    • Work on maps (making locations, events, getting resources)
What I'd like to get done:
    • Figuring out my menu
    • Custom faces outside of the prologue.
    • Fitting title card
    • Maybe a title logo
30 days in April. That sounds good.
  20. Definite Goals for this month are:
    - Finish Busts for a few more Story NPCs
    - Finish at least 5 Monster Battlers
    - Finish Maps for Chapter One
    - Update Maps for a newer resolution

Flex Goals (if I have the time basically):
    - More Monsters
    - More created resources (I needs more trees and rocks and stuff)
    - Design an actual logo
    - Figure out how to use a recording program to make videos

I'm hoping to get to the Flex Goals as I do have a week between semesters this month so we'll see how that goes.
