  1. I want to make an rpg and I have the script for battle symphony and holder animated battlers on VX Ace which is great but I have no idea which battle system is the best for actually being able to input your own people into the battle system. I'm asking because animated battlers look amazing and really up the quality of the game but I'm not sure how or using what you can do to make it so you aren't just restricted to pre made characters.
  2. Yami's Battle Symphony, Victor Saint's Side-View Battlers, and Fomar's Sideview battlers are 3 other good options.
  3. Thanks guys! Do you know what program and the process of making your own animated battlers?
  4. I think all of the side view battle systems let you put your own battlers in, its just a matter of finding out what the standards are or figuring out what you need to tweak in the script.

I'm not entirely sure this is the right place to ask this question.  It's not really about the art side of it, but what the scripts do with the art.  You might want to ask in the scripting sections, the code people may have a better idea of how it works and what you can do with it.
  5. If you look up "Holder's Animated Battlers" he uses a specific sheet layout, and even gives an explanation on how he creates them and sets them up.

As for the program used, if you're trying to not spend a big load of money, then GIMP is free, and works just fine.
