    Aindra's Corner - RPG Maker VX and RPG Maker VX/Ace Tiles, Sprites And Animated Objects


    Welcome to Aindra's Corner, hosted by GrandmaDeb.


    Aindra was one of my first friends in the world of RPG making, and although


    her edits may not seem ground-breaking now, at the time, they were all


    "Thank goodness, I was so sick of the two RTP bookcases!"


    Her "secret places" are still super stuff, as are many of her other animations.

    Aindra is a friend of mine who made these edits many years ago.


    She was also affectionately know as "the bunneh." Her avatar was a - um - bunny. [=


    If you look at my signature you will see that I remade a tutorial game she wrote for VX into Ace.


    These resources of hers are worth sharing, so I wanted to be sure the community here had a chance to see them.

    These are incredible! This may seem an obvious question - but for those that are RTP edits (like some of the hidden places for example, those are so cool!), would those be ok for commercial usage? I'm just wondering what is meant by the sharealike license pertaining to all of her works except the altered ones.

    Well, Aindra has asked only for non-commercial usage for the RTP edits.

    And I do agree that the RTP edits deserve to be able to be used commercially, since they are just  ---errr, um, RTP edits, lol.

    But what she means is that if she used someone else's stuff, she is following their terms. For example, the "moths around light" are Mack's light-post, I believe.

    There are, however, other edits of the RTP for hiding places which may not have the same restrictions, by (off the top of my head) White Pastry Shop and ***somewhere else unfindable at present*** - I'll try and run some down for you.\

    Many of these are in character set form, and you do not need to add them as tilesheets.

    But you will have to tell me which tiles you are trying to use so I can help you add the tiles. =]

    Ahhhh I see... But I can't understand yet what do you mean by 'in character set form' ;u;. Uhm, wouldn't you mind if I add you on skype or somewhere else? I don't have much time now since it's late here and I have to go to bed...

    Is a copy of the Resource Standards for Ace - I assume you are using Ace?


    It is the same information as what is is your help file. You are gonna want to get to be familiar with your help file.


    Essentially there are two basic kinds of resources to become familiar with (and many others to learn about later for customizing your game!)


    One is character sets and one is tilesets. Please read about them in the link or in your help file.


    Character sets either hold one group of 3 sprites by by 4 sprites, or eight  of these smaller groups in two rows.

    A character set with 3 x 4 sprites - you must put a $ in front of these files after you download them to use them in your game.

    As you can see, some images which look like tiles are set up as character sets, to make them easy to add to your game, like this previous one. Character sets allow objects to be animated, but they can also be another way to add regular old tiles to your map.

    Tilesets involve many different setups because there are several different kinds of tiles.

    The animated piano is just wowzies! A lot of these tiles can add a fair amount of spookiness to any game. I think Aindra is very talented to have been able to come with all these animated characters. I'm glad to have finally found an animated wall clock as well. Thanks for sharing, granny ^_^

    I'm kinda sad that it's non-commercial only though :(
