    Overview

     ​
    Murder, Treason, War. King Barius must be stopped.

    Heavily influenced by a new dark power, this mad baron has razed his own kingdom through a deseperate act of 'cleansing'.

    Leonardo, yoshira, Thana, and Garren have joined forces to stop this newly appointed king once and for all.

    Features

    Spoiler
    • No basic attack:  Equip a specilized rune for your skills, and create scrolls from those runes to equip for additional abilities
    • No MP or Magic Resource Management.  Build up Rune Points through your attacks and unleash your fury!
    • Equip anything and everything: Make your characters fearsome warriors or deadly spellcasters, the choice is yours!
    • Simple, one ingredient type Crafting System to create your gear. No complicated skill based recipes here!
    • No invisible or wandering 'random encounters.' You'll see packs of monsters and prepare before fighting.
    • All enemies you fight have a strategy to defeat them.  Spamming attacks blindly won't work here, folks
    • Full Recovery after every battle, with no Game over screen if you lose.  Fight with all your might!

    • In fights with Daemancers + Guardians, if you kill both Guardians at the same time, the Daemancers will remain invincible.  To avoid this, kill Guardians one at a time.

    Looks great Brett, I like your mapping (it's very good) and the custom art is awesome.

    I bet you also added a lot of strategy and customization inbattle (I remember the videos you posted in the Game Making Drive), I would like to test it but I'm too damn busy atm...so I can't help you sadly.

    Looks very promising however, can't wait to play it.
  6. Yeah, it's looking very good, and the strategic nature of battles sounds good too. I can certainly give this a playtest, though there doesn't seem to be a link anywhere.

    Game's still being cleaned up, so there isn't a download link right now.  There may be one available tomorrow, however, after more initial testing.

    I really appreciate the love though!  The game's shaping up to reward thoughtful strategy! :)

  11. File includes RTP to make the game work, otherwise it's already an 85mb file.  Over time I'll work to shrink it down, but hopefully you all can handle the size :)

    I'll try to shrink where I can in the meanwhile.
  12. Yeah I figured ;D I was expecting a non RTP-version but no biggies!

    Edit: Errr. I tried to start the game and it says 'Script Cache line 105: RGSSError occurred. failed to create bitmap.' Is this because I'm on an Windows XP laptop again?

    @Alkorri: redownload and try again, I was messing with some things link wise and let me know if you still get that error.

    I'm super busy with r/l stuff, but I'm going to check this out tomorrow; I remember you entered a boss contest a while back, so I'm sure you know how to make a game fun.
  15. @Arkecia:  Thanks! Sadly I never got to enter that boss contest due to time constraints, but I hope it's fun for everyone!

    @Alkorri:  It may not work because I had encrypted files checked.  I'm right now creating non-encrypted versions to see if that works better.

  18. I'm testing it too and when I read a little bit ago (I also downloaded the big file that gave errors). So I just opened it and looking through the menu and lo... I see my script (that always makes me happy to see it). I swear I wasn't on the credits list, but I'm up there now =) But might want to fix the typo.

    I'll get more details as I play through

    Excellent! Sorry for the mistype, I keep thinking "Vecna - The God of Death" from D&D 3rd edition.  It's been fixed :p

    And your script was a last minute addition.  Originally I remembered your script not greying out items that can't be crafted, and not having gold costs, but I saw it was recently updated I just had to use it.  I felt it served things very well!  I have more suggestions for the script, but I'll post on that later and we'll talk more another time :)   I hope you enjoy the game!
  20. ps not sure if you got the update I posted last evening, I fixed an issue and it seems you found it as well. But if you open the script and go down to the def draw_ingredients just move the "set_font:)other_text, enabled)" line down below the "enabled  = (owned < @required ? false : @ingredient_count += 1)" around line 788 and you shouldn't get that error message any more and the text will appear the right shade of grey again
