Actor's name in message event even when renamed

  1. Basically I want the player to be able to name his/her character. I know that Name Input Processing will show the changed name in the menu and battles but I want to be able to use message events and still say the new name. For example, say "Philip" instead of "Aluxes" or something like that. If this is possible without scripts then could somebody please tell me how? If not then could a moderator just move this to the script requests forum? I'm using RPG Maker XP
  2. Of course - that is what the text codes are for. For example, \N[2] will always display the name of actor 2.


    To see the text codes of RMXP, simply open the help file and search for the event command "show text"
  3. Thank you so much! I always like the ability to name people. And now I can have it in my game! I thought I was gonna need a script. I'm still relatively new. But I think I'm just rambling on now so thanks a lot! And a moderator can close this thread now. (or you since I just notice you're a moderator)
