You can try Yanfly's plugin YEP_BattleEngineCore. It has settings under the Sideview section of the plugin parameters for "Home Position X" and "Home Position Y."

There's a whole bunch of included plugins that come with RMMV and one of them does exactly this - the one called SVActorPosition.js
