Just purchased VX Ace, but when i got to activate, I receive this error message:
" The activation was unsuccessful. Response from the server: NOK. "
I have tried Mako's posted solution with the proxy server, but with no luck. Most just continue attempting to connect for 30+ minutes, while others time out I guess and give me the same NOK response. I have my router's firewall and my windows firewall turned off. Any solutions? Running windows 7 64 bit, belkin router. Thanks

Firstly...I had loads of problems from Belkin routers. It is good to make sure your router is set to a restricting security type.
What kind of proxy servers did you try? Some are inefficient in actually changing anything. If you haven't tried any proxy software, then it is definitely worth a shot. -
I tried a bunch of random ones on hidemyass. All of them were HTTP. I was going to try sockscap, as suggested in another thread, but they do not have a 64 bit version available. I did, however, do a search for server responses and NOK. Wiki stated it means its returning a not okay state, as in down or overloaded. Could it simply be due to the activation server being down at the moment?

I wouldn't know if the server is down. I'm sure if it was the moderators or admin here would say something.
You can try Hotspot Shield instead of Sockscap. It is a free software, so you don't have to worry about anything holding you down from downloading. -
Hmm, I think it may be. Went ahead and tried a trial version and it worked instantly, so I guess it's not an ISP block, since people were having trouble with the trial activation as well. Guess I'll try activating my purchase tomorrow. Thanks for the help

So you got the RM engine to work then? Or do you mean the proxy server software?
-
The RM engine. With no proxy server involved. Decided to see if the trial activation would work, and it did. I tried to activate my purchase again at work, on a different connection and ISP, and was still receiving the NOK error :\

Hmm, perhaps something is wrong with your product key? Try activating your purchased version with a proxy involved.
