[Ace] Skills Use Weapon Traits

  1. Hello all,

    Would it be possible to set up skills and spells so that they have the traits/elements of the weapon that is currently equipped?

    For example, Player A has a sword equipped. He is a fighting an enemy that is weak to swords, but repels lance attacks. He used Skill A. Skill A would be effective because it has the sword quality.

    However is player A has a lance equipped and uses the same skill, it will now have the lance quality.

    I'm working with a system that has no basic "Attack" function and mainly works only off skills, so I was wondering if this was at all possible.

  2. If it's just elements, you can set skills to use the element of the weapon on the element selection option on the skills.


    Can you post a screenie of your weapon tab?
  3. Yes, just select Normal Attack in the top right of the skill in the dabase, with that you are indicating that they will use the element of the equipped weapon.

    Now if you are trying to achieve some kind of weapon triangle like fire emblem (sword beats axe, axe beats spear, spear beats sword) you should set the weapon as Elements on the Terms tab of the database and the apply it to the weapons and enemy resistances.
  4. Thank you. It's similar to the weapon triangle In the sense that certain classes will be weak to certain weapon types.

    Essentially, I've created an element for each weapon type so I would like change the resist and weak rates per enemy.
