I just clicked on a link in the ace master list, then I clicked on the next link to go to the adfly page that redirects me to the script. Guess what happened? I got a 18+ uncensored nude image of 2 giant co**s and a girl covered in sp**m. I got a screenshot but I rather not post it here. And no I did not click on the "wrong download link" and no I usually don't search for that stuff, at least not from that PC.
Could we please avoid any scripts on the master list that use AdFly as well? :distrust:
I know it's already not allowed on these forums.
Update:
I just looked it up and AdFly now indeed supports nude content and warez.

The problem with that is that some scripters place all their scripts behind adfly pages, including some very often used scripts. Removing all those links simply because of adfly will remove a lot of scripts.
However, the 18+ picture has to be because of either a configuration change at adfly, or a configuration change of that specific scripter - because I never had an 18+ ad from adfly whenever I got to one of those scripts in the last year.
Can you PM an Admin or Moderator the exact script where this happened? Then we can test wether that was an accident (wrong configuration at adfly), a misconfiguration of that specific script or some new, general problem with adfly. -
At least a fair 18+ warning before proceeding should be in place at either the scripter's site or at the master list imo. I never expected this to happen from AdFly though.
I also never had a 18+ content ad from them before. But this particular ad (as you can see from the P.M.) is pretty 'hardcore nude', not exactly subtle. This goes way beyond NSFW. -
I've relayed it to Staff, it looks like either Adfly changed their TOS or they were hacked.
Currently we can only wait until either the scripters using adfly change their configuration, or adfly places a block on that. -
It's a pretty valid concern. Perhaps the Master Script list could at least indicate somehow whether the script is behind an Adfly or similar commercial page?
-
I agree that it's a valid concern, I never said something else - but we are limited in what we can do.
There are about a thousand scripts on the MSL - it'll take hours just to check which ones go over adfly, and still more hours to place a warning on the ones who do (at least for regular people, and I don't have any special access to the MSL backend).
I already placed a general warning on top of the list, but until either the scripters changes their pages or someone with full access to the MSL-wiki writes a specific filter, nothing else can be done. We'll have to wait for the people with full access to read this and decide what they can do. -
Remove those links.
If scripters have an issue with it, then find another service for shortening URL's such as bit.ly.
If they want to share adfly links on their own blogs, that's up to them, but don't put it on the master script list. Or, remove the porn and advertise healthy fruits and vegetables.
