  1. As the title kind of explains, I have somehow managed to accidentally delete a file I needed ( and only had 1 copy of ) through the Resource Manager. This would all be fine except it seems that it deletes the file off your computer as well, or so it seem.

I can't find it in the recycle bin and searching my hard drive has turned up 0 results. My question is IF it has really deleted it fully off my system, is there any way I can recover it or do I have to start over?

I am really sorry if this is a dumb question... :S

EDIT: Holy crap thankyou for smart programs. Turns out the graphics program I was using has some sort of auto backup but names the files differently hence why I couldn't find them. Thanks for the help everyone.
  2. what kind of file it is?

you cannot delete part of the RTP, so it has to be an added resource.

And if you imported it via the resource manager as well, it will be copied from the original position - so you should find it there.

If you moved it into the project without the resource manager (or deleted the original after copying it), then most probably you're out of luck...
  3. Bummer about the last part. It was a character set I was working on and stupidly didn't make a copy. Also I moved it into the game folder then imported it, once again, like an idiot. :(

If you think someone else will have any other help feel free to keep it open, otherwise this can be marked as solved.
  4. You're sure it didn't go into the recycle bin?
  5. Positive, that's why I assumed it bypasses the recycling bin.

    EDIT: See first post.
