I want to give my character a skill. Kind of like a perk in Fallout. I want it to just unlock some additional dialogue, so functionally, all I need it for is the condition.
However, I would still like it to show up on the player's skill list, with a proper description, but I want it to be unusable in battle. Not even displaying in battle.
Can I do it at all? :)
A passive non-battle skill?

I've dealt with a skill like that and can confirm it is possible. And I think even Yanfly plugins should be enough to make that skill.

You don't need a plugin for that. Have a common event run on every encounter that checks if a character has the skill. If they do, set switch on and unlearn the skill from them. Once the battle ends, have a parallel common event activate on condition of that switch that returns the skill to the character.

@Millenin that's a good trick - will remember it for other uses, but I think it would be very problematic for me to remember to remove this skill in every single battle event.
@Poryg - do you remember which Yanfly plugin enabled that? -
I made a skill which I set to usable never, which would then make it show up but never be able to be used in the menu. Not quite what you wanted, but it's close.

Skill core can make a skill visible/invisible if I remember correctly.
