A mapping dilemma

  1. I made two different versions of the same area.

One is divided into smaller mapps, the other is one big mapp covering everything.

    Which one should I use?
  2. That depends on you and how you want the player to experience it all.  Do you want them to experience as one large map or as several smaller ones?
  3. If you want events to go across the entire map region, you'll want to use it as a single integrated map.

If you want more events in smaller regions, you will get better performance from the smaller maps.

But, keep in mind you can have a maximum of 999 maps --- so a lot of small maps can quickly add up.
  4. I didn't know there was a mapp limit...then I guess I have no choice but to use larger ones...

There is no way I can cover the whole fictional world mapp I drew with so little...I got almost to 50 mapps just doing the first mainroad on the 3rd smallest country up North-Ovest.
  5. map only has 1 p.

How big is your large map? How big are the smaller maps and how many do you have? Bigger maps, especially if you have lots of events, will cause your game to lag. 999 is an awful lot of maps.
  6. the large mapp is 100x100.

the smaller ones have the default size (15x17) and there are about forty of them...

Maybe I better do a worldmapp like the final fantasy games or else the game will be so laggy it will be unplayable.
  7. 100x100 isn't too big. I'd stick with the large one, but consider breaking up anything much bigger.
