  2. Hi,

That pack looks Super Duper AWESOME!!! :D

I'll be buying that as soon as possible. Thanks for telling us :)

And for the giveaway I would choose to do music for my game, Russell Watson. I know he sings, but that's what would make my game unique having a brilliant talented singer like him singing classically whilst you play my game! :)

    Miffy.
  3. Does the update to Old School Modern pack 1 apply to steam buyers or just site buyers?
  4. I would like to try the give away.

So here's my answer and opinion.

If you could choose any one musician to compose exclusive music for your projects, who would you choose and why?:

It would certainlly be:Aaron krogh because his musics are really well made and it brings that feeling:Wow!That's really good.Besides that he makes both battle themes and non-battle themes and he is even kind enough to allow his music to be used commecially.

    So that's my opinion.
  5. One musician? Gargh, this question is not suited for me at all, being deaf XD

Erm... I'd probably choose Scythuz, as I can contact him easily at any time, and I know that he's produced good works for the store. He's helped me in the past with music selections for a game, so I know that I can work with him to find music that suits the 'personality' of the situation(s) I am trying to portray.

It will be updated on Steam, as well, but it might take us a few days. :)
  7. @Lunarea:

I went to the RPG Maker store but for some reason when I clicked the Old School Modern 2 "read more" the page didn't change. It just kept loading. Is that a problem with RPG Maker or will that be my Qustodio (internet security software) blocking the page?

    Thanks :)

    Miffy.
  8. All of these packs look and sound amazing! It also really makes me wanna buy all the Old School packs now that it looks a bit more complete.

As for which musician I'd ask to compose exclusive music, wow that is a TOUGH question. There's so many talented ones here! I recently had to listen to some 500 tracks for a project, and I found that DesperateMeasurez aka Darren Curtis' music seem to resonate with me the most. I find that he tends to compose tracks which strike an emotional chord in me, and I would love to communicate that depth of feeling in my stories. Edit: Take note, I'm not a music person at all so I just go with my gut ;)
  9. @Miffy:

I just checked, and it seems to link fine for me. The link might be getting caught by your internet security. :(
  10. Composer to make my music? Well, that's sort of odd question for me because I do make my own music. Though, idealistically; my music would write itself. I would just think at, or heck, yell at my computer and it would make true beauty. And fully mixed, too. I hate that part. I often joke that I should write customer support and complain my software is faulty, but then it would take 6 business days to get an automated email. And well, apparently I have to work for my music.

I would have Koji Kondo in the form of the modern Zelda games do my OST. Why? Once they gave that guy a full, live orchestra I was blown away. It was game over. He was never a guy who just did beeps and boops. He was a musical genius capable of the music I adored from prolific symphonies and film scores. All while playing a game.

I always loved the themes found in Zelda but watching the music grow over decades as technology advanced I could honestly hear how he's now writing the music he probably would have all along. Skyword Sword's OST absolutely floored me. His use of motif spanning the entire soundtrack is absolutely masterful and what I like to create in my own soundtracks. A small, recognizeable hook that is transformed across a span of human emotions; exiting and re entering your mind over the course of the game. The OST is nearly a symphony, a full and cohesive thought.

    I am a fan.
  11. Oh, I love the Far East music pack, I just thought we need some exotic themes :)

I'm not sure, if you mean musicians from the store or any musician. From the store, it would be Murray Atkinson, I end up buying all of his music packs, love his songs so much :)

If it could be any musician, it would be Ennio Morricone, no questions asked. I'm a big western fan!
  12. OK thank you Luna. I'll ask my dad if he can unblock that link for me.

    Thank you :)
  13. Hmmm.  Which composer?  I like what Aaron Krogh has done, but I also like Scythuz and Gyrowolf's music packs as well.  I would have to go with Scythuz because I like the variety of music he creates.
  14. Wow Awesome!

    musician for compose my music!?

this is obvious this scythuz, because he is a Jack of all trade.

Is talent touch a level of professionalism I never saw before.

Maybe in couple of years, Scythuz will produce music for famous movie or video games?
  15. Hah!  There it is!  I knew there was a second Old School pack coming!

Darn, mine's on Steam.  I was really curious about what the beds ended up looking like since I did my own.

For the contest:  Well, if I can pick from anyone at all I'd say Yasunori Mitsuda because he's composed my favorite game soundtracks like Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross and Xenogears.  If it's limited to RM community musicians, I feel I need to do a lot more listening to music before I can say for certain, but I really liked the job McTricky did for me.
  16. I'm no artist so I can't quite tell, but I figured this is the place to ask: Does anyone know if the Old School packs would blend well with Crazy Leen's retropixel resources? Edit: And Sharm's work :)

I stuck a couple of beds in an existing screenshot. Does that help?

There are a few bed varieties. :)
  18. @Alkorri:  Hmm, Crazy Leen's has a lot of texture to it, I don't think so.  My Tiny 16 stuff is the wrong scale but the stuff like walls and ground tiles would work.  The main thing is the palette.  You'd need to edit either mine or his or both so that they match.  I would recommend doing both since both sets have such a small pallet and are highly optimized to them.  You'd really need a lot more colors to get them to play nice.

@Lunarea:  Oh yes, thank you!  I mostly just wanted to know if mine looked different, and they do.
  19. @Lunarea:

    That screenshot is AMAZING :)

It almost looks like the old Pokémon games - Tomorrow I am going to see if my dad can afford that pack. I need it :D

Does it require the first one to work in Vx Ace?
