As someone who is, oddly, obsessed with "Retro-ifying" images I decided to reduce the colours of the RTP Tilesets to 16 in order create a sort of SNES feel to my game. Enjoy :D
If you use these in your RPGMaker MV projects just credit me. Normally resource creators and scripters ask for a free copy of your game if you commercialise it but I don't really mind either way...

...personally I like to pay for things so I'd probably buy a copy anyway.

I downloaded these and I really like them! I like the retro graphics too. But a suggestion: a screenshot might be useful so people can see what they are getting before they download.
Thanks for sharing, though! They look good, really. -
can you upload a tutorial on how to get this effect? I like it a lot and I would like to apply it to others things like characters or faces.
-
^agree! I really like this but would like the other assets to match in style.

I'll link the YouTube video into a reply once its done :D^agree! I really like this but would like the other assets to match in style.

Thank you so much! I really needed something like this for a big project I'm starting! ^__^

By preview image do you mean a map using the majority of the tileset? Or simply a png file of the actual tileset file? -
Either would work, we just need to be able to see what to expect inside the zip before downloading.

Ah OK. I'm adding some samples now. -

Funny story about those Sci-Fi tilesets...I kinda forgot that they existed when I was making this. I'll get on that real quick. I tend to forget things super easy, got too many damn things floating around in that mind of mine. -
Alright I've updated the zip file with the Sci-Fi tilesets.
As for how I've been doing this it's actually kinda simple (I don't really need to make a video about it).
Open the image of your choice using GIMP (the Image Editor I use) and go to "image->mode->indexed...", check "generate optimum palette" (if it's not checked already) and change the value from 256 to 16.
I'm not too sure how to do it for other image editors (as I only use GIMP) but I'd assume it's a similar thing. I'm basically forcing the program to only use 16 colours as opposed to using 256 colours. -
teach me how please ;u;
i need to know for my game ;u; -
